Haute-Nendaz is at the heart of „Les 4 Vallées“ (www.4vallees.ch), one of the most spectacular alpine areas for trekking, hiking and biking. The natural beauty of this high-alpine landscape and its treks up to 3300 meters above sea level are in a class of its own. A unique specialty of this area are treks along the so-called „bisses“. The „bisses“ are century-old water channels that were built along the mountains and which are still operated and maintained. There are also many treks revolving around topics regarding local nature and biology (www.nendaz.ch).
The most beautiful treks start right at the wooden porch of Chalet Adey. The main mountain cableway station of the village is open all summer and only a 15 minute walk away from the Chalet.
There are plenty of fun events for the young and old alike, such as an alphorn-festival, an alp ascent, a sun-rise experience on Mont Fort at 3300m above sea level, an international classic guitar festival or a local fair offering mouth-watering local food specialties.
Finally, Haute-Nendaz’ special microclimate deserves a mention: the village is at the heart of the sunniest region in Switzerland sporting 300 days of sunshine a year. At the same time, summer guests enjoy the pleasantly cool and dry mountain air as a welcome change from the summer heat and humidity they often encounter at home.
